First Impressions
When we landed in London, we had to wait around for several hours to be reunited with our sweet pup, Clover. By this point we were all feeling quite out of sorts. But we sure were happy to see her again! Our 2 year old sleepily said, "Clover comed back! No Clover leave!" She was so relieved and I wondered if in her little mind she had thought the goodbye we had said to her pup a few days earlier was forever. The first differences I noticed were very common ones: “Lift” instead of elevator, “queue here” instead of wait here. I noticed that the bathrooms in the airport were super nice (and different). I noticed that although we speak the language, there are tons of different figures of speech- enough that for now I’m a little self-conscious when I speak.
